Fitness to Practise
Te Kaunihera Manapou Paramedic Council's role is to protect the health and safety of the public by ensuring that paramedics have an assured level of knowledge, experience, and skill. The Council carries out this role by considering the competence, health or conduct of paramedics, and if brought into question, deciding what action to take.
Council actions can range from the inclusion of certain conditions on a paramedic ability to practise to disciplinary action. In serious cases where there is a risk to public safety, the Council may suspend the paramedic from practising.
If you would like to contact the Council regarding any concerns about a paramedic, a notification must be made in writing to the Registrar including the reasons why you believe they pose a risk of harm to the public. You may access our online form here.
If you would like to discuss your concerns further before completing a notification form, please email [email protected].
