Educating safe and competent paramedics
Te Kaunihera Manapou Paramedic Council's primary mission is to protect public safety. To support this function, Te Kaunihera Manapou Paramedic Council, under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, is responsible for prescribing paramedic qualifications and setting education standards for paramedic programmes and the institutions that provide these programmes.
Te Kaunihera Manapou Paramedic Council has decided to accredit Auckland University of Technology (AUT) and Whitireia New Zealand as approved providers of the Bachelor of Health Science in Paramedicine until March 2023.
Prospective students should contact the listed educational institutions to discuss the opportunities and entry criteria for their paramedic programmes (AUT or Whitireia New Zealand).
