Pathway D - Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition
If you are registered as a paramedic with the Paramedicine Board of Australia (PBA), you can apply for registration through the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act (1997) which allows for reciprocal registration between New Zealand and Australia. As part of the registration process, we will need to validate your registration, qualifications, and professional standing with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulatory Authority (AHPRA). Any existing conditions on your practice will be carried over.
To complete registration through TTMR on MyPMC, you will need the following documentation:
Confirmation of ID
Evidence of registration
Evidence of name change
Qualification leading to initial registration (if applicable)
Please allow for 10 working days for your application to be processed.
To begin the registration process, you will need to have a MyPMC account which you can find here.

Once you are registered, you will be asked to apply for an Annual Practising Certificate. This entitles you to practise as a paramedic in New Zealand. For further information, please click here.
